No Self-Awareness & No Inner Calm – I Messed Up Again

This morning I had not one iota of self-awareness. My inner calm and serenity went right out the door in an instant…

One thing I am learning, mostly through messing up, is that to have peace in your life, you have to start where you are now.

I am getting over a bad cold. We were supposed to fly to Chicago on Saturday to visit my brother and his family. But I got sick last week, and even though I tried to rest and whatnot, we ended up cancelling the whole trip. So I feel guilty about that, even though I know it would have been stupid and rude to go and stay at my brother’s house with a cough and fever. 4 Hour Fever





Last week at work at about 8 hours into my shift I started feeling achy. I’d been practicing being present and feeling my inner body in little increments throughout the day. At this point in my life, being present and inner body awareness doesn’t come automatically, but it’s something I practice as often as I remember throughout the day. It’s something I have to put my attention and focus on, as my mind continually wants to take over and pull me into thinking and nonsense.
